COHNNABIS adds Taylor West as Senior Director of Communications

COHNNABIS hires former NCIA deputy director Taylor West

DENVER, COLO., AUG. 14, 2017 – COHNNABIS, the cannabis industry’s leading full-service integrated marketing, brand, creative, digital, social and public relations agency, is proud to announce the hire of Taylor West as senior communications director. West is the former deputy director of the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA).

By adding West’s cannabis industry insight and in-depth strategic communications experience, COHNNABIS is setting a new standard for companies serious about building a compelling, effective, and authentic brand within the industry. In addition to her work for COHNNABIS, West will also provide high-level expertise to COHN Marketing, COHNNABIS’ parent company that serves clients across additional verticals including healthcare, business-to-business, and public-private partnerships.

“We are so excited to welcome Taylor to the family and put her unique combination of skills and knowledge to work for our clients,” said Jeff Cohn, president and CEO of COHN Marketing. “The cannabis industry is exploding with growth and intense competition. The companies aiming for true staying power need sophisticated partners who understand this space inside and out. Taylor brings that to COHNNABIS clients in spades.”

Since January 2014, West has served as second-in-command at NCIA, the cannabis industry’s largest trade association and the most valuable source for federal advocacy, education, and business development in the industry. During her time at NCIA, the organization has grown from approximately 300 member-businesses to nearly 1,400, and West has become a high-profile representative of the industry in global media, standing up for the respect and fair treatment of responsible, professional cannabis businesses across the United States.

“There is no community more interesting, exciting, or rapidly evolving than the cannabis industry, and I’ve been honored to contribute to that community through NCIA for the last four years,” West said. “The industry’s businesses deserve the best, most professional strategic services, and that’s what we’ll be bringing to the table for COHNNABIS clients.”

Prior to joining NCIA, West spent more than a decade in communications and leadership positions in the political, policy, nonprofit, and business arenas.
